Building Crossfaders using the Combinator by Kurt Kurasaki

One of the basic elements for many live applications is the ability to segue between two audio sources in real-time using a crossfader. The principle is simple where the level of two faders simultaneously change when receiving a single controller event. The fader levels are inversely proportional so as one level increases, the other decreases. This allows convenient blending or transitions between audio sources without having to use two controllers or separate mouse parameter changes

Vinyl Stop Effect by Document02

Here is a small effect to emulate vinyl being stopped. To use the effect, put the Combinator in line with the sound you want to stop, then send a MIDI note to the combi. An alternative method is to hit the stop button, but the results are not as good as the one with a MIDI note.

Fake scratch using Reason and a MIDI keyboard by William Lamy

MIDI-Scratching ? This is a technique I often use in my productions : I love scratches but I’m not a DJ. So I use what I have : a MIDI keyboard and Propellerhead Reason. This gives MIDI-scratching. It works on Reason v1 and later, and probably on other sequencing programs too, it only requires to load a sample, and to play it while applying a heavy pitch effect realtime.

More Scratch Fun in Reason 4 by NedRush

Interesting stuff using midi gate control via thor’s cv outputs to control stuff in combinators, basic approach here using it as a bypass for a simple scratch effect using the mod wheel.
