In the course of developing my Noise Gate, I found it very useful to visualise CV signals in real time. In fact, it surprises me that there isn’t a built-in way to do this. So I thought I’d share my very simple “CV Monitor” combinator.
Recording CV to Audio in Record by John Boqvist
This might be a tad off topic, but whenever I need to wrap my head around how different CV behaves, I use Thor’s ability to convert CV to audio and record the output to an audio track in Record. In some situations, my eyes see things more clearly than my ears. See an attached example (actually a user case), where I needed to visualize why a Matrix pattern modulating a synced LFO rate didn’t produce the expected result on every pass.
